It is telling that Counter Lunch dot org would give this a platform.

Hail the reformist NATO Left!

I expected him to attack Putin as an incipient Stalin. Maybe he did and I missed it. Bernie drags his political corpse to the Right of Trump, and his Revolution did not last long.

Good article! Sanders follows in the time-honored history of social democracy, a history that included the betrayal of socialist internationalism when, in August 1914, each "socialist" party supported the war aims of its own capitalist government. This, and the October Revolution, were what gave birth to Communist parties in the ashes of World War I. The new Communists were mostly left splits from the social chauvinists of the old Socialist parties in the Second International.

Sanders plays the same role as these earlier traitors to the workers' cause. Moreover, he would have, too, if circumstances had been such that the Democratic Party apparatus would have backed him in 2016.

I don’t think that Bernie was ever good on foreign policy. Matt Duss was his his foreign policy guy and has the same take on Ukraine. The whole dem party hates Russia and Putin and regular dems all bought into Russiagate. I remember when the first tranche of money was voted on for Ukraine and every dem voted yes. I donated to his 2016 campaign because I liked his social program. Hillary is just a warmongering Wall Street shill.

It is sickening to think that I volunteered for his campaign twice. I am beyond disgusted with his betrayal of the principles he supposedly espoused, in his denouncement of the Iraq War. Did he even write this himself? Has everything he has said been a lie?

I also volunteered for his campaign in 2016. I would still prefer him over Hillary Clinton. I don't think everything is a lie but he's been awful on the Ukraine-Russia conflict. I recommend Jeffrey St. Clair's book https://www.amazon.com/Bernie-Sandernistas-Field-Failed-Revolution/dp/1539032728

I think Sanders has always been a neocon, he just disguised it with some vague "leftish" rhetoric. Also funny that he's writing in Counterpunch, when the founder of that magazine, Cockburn, called his bluff years ago. but Counterpunch is yet another fake left site now.

He also continues to throw up the Israeli narrative of Oct 7th, that has long been debunked. He’s an actor, plain and simple.

Neoconnish boilerplate.
