A side note of something that always puzzles me: why do westerners call Ngo "Diem"? They understand "Ho" is the family name for Ho Chi Minh, but somehow only use HALF of the given name for Ngo Dinh Diem. It's like saying Zelensky and Vlad. Zelensky would just lead to surrender on Russia's terms and dividing up mineral rights to Don Jr and co. Yes the CIA was instrumental in the Maidan coup, and Ukraine subsequently threatens the agreement to not have NATO on Russia's borders. But the alternative is being a Russian satellite authoritarian dictatorship. The Ukrainian people have done the impossible and held a much greater power in check for years. They have been written off many times and instead redefined modern warfare. I would compare Zelensky to Churchill, which from everything I've read about his past was terrible, but held the Brits together, against similar odds, long enough to prevail, and was quickly sidelined after the war. Zelensky might be as corrupt and terrible as this piece makes him out to be but has performed a miracle in now advancing in their fight against Russian aggression.
Any story relying on 'great replacement theory' Tucker Carlson's interview and framing falls in the 'Hitler had some good ideas' category.
