Yes, indeed. Jimmy tried hard for sainthood, absolution or whatever AFTER he left office. He oversaw the laying of the groundwork for a great deal of evil which followed his administration and the US government perpetrated several vile machinations while he was nominally in charge.

I have known this for years, few in USA want to know this any more than they want to understand who and WHAT Ronald Reagan was.

Great article that cuts through all the tripe one usually hears about Jimmy Carter being a good man who made bad decisions despite doing his best. Other analysts describe him as a narcissist and hungry for power, abusive and dismissive towards those who disagreed with him, but who managed to present himself as a humble Christian soul- which is at odds with those who worked closely with him. Just another hypocritical power hungry politician!
