Thank you Jeremy for deconstructing what was a full throttle push by the DNC to do a controlled opposition event to sustain the divisions among all people in society, not just the working class. I attended fully aware and delighted in the rallying with others to voice opposition to tyranny. So, I enjoyed crashing the DNC's project with my sign that read 'end plutocracy' and 'fight oligarchy' and sought out others with similar signs and shared a flyer for a Nov. 1 meet up to under the banner Egalitarians Unite. I like the way you organized the information in the essay. The complete denial by the DNC of the Covid mandates, fake pandemic, public health hoax is the height of hypocrisy and deceit.
Indeed, a very limited hangout, and like Chuck, I went to one too in the Maine town of Rockland, population 7000, anticipating a crowd of maybe 75-100, a bit more than the usual Maine demo. But upon arrival and finally finding parking, I discovered a crowd of maybe 2000! While I unite with your critique and Chuck's response, I see something quite positive that here and across the country, several million people got off their couches and engaged politically in (very limited) opposition. THAT is important in itself. A crack in political lethargy! Good but feeble start.
And what are their actual concrete demands? Nothing! "Trump should be nicer, or we'll... Errr... Write even cleverer signs and have another protest!" You can bet none of these people voted for Trump so they don't even have that tiniest of leverage.
The whole thing is a colossal waste of time, intended to make participants feel like they 'got involved in politics' while not challenging the imperialist duopoly one iota. To quote an orange man: Sad.
Very well said, thank you very much for this. For more on how the half of the ruling class known as the democratic party does NOT want to remove the rich from power to have real democracy (and nor does the republican party, the other half of the ruling class) and on how the billionaires of both parties and their medias and influencers and their herd-creating algorithms on their privately-owned social medias are all working to pit the 99% against each other instead of against them, for more on all of that and on what actually can remove the freeloading billionaire predators from power over us, see this brilliant essay (and this substack account in general) https://open.substack.com/pub/johnspritzler/p/demonstrations-organized-by-the-ruling
Excellent assessment of this Democratic Party operation. The ACLU endorsed the COVID mandates by the way in blatant contradiction of their mandate to defend civil liberties. As did most of the self described Marxist Left parties who seem to have a knack for self immolation at semi regular intervals.
That said I believe there are elements amongst some participants who can be reached on the basis of working class interests.
Notably Kshama Sawant, a real Marxist oriented Socialist, running for congress against a Zionist maniac, was disinvited from the speakers roster.
This is such a breath of fresh air. It’s on grounds like this that working people of the “left” and “right” can unite. Of course the plutocrats work overtime to divide us into red vs blue.
Did you notice the protests are dominated by white people? They aren't multiracial and they aren't focusing on economic issues so they're probably financially well off.
Here is a video showing the No Kings Protests were sponsored by Neocon Democrats and the protest organizers don't have any demands.

Another fake rally funded by the super rich.
I never seen yet any one sign that there is opposition in public to the American war against Russia, UkroNam
Quite.
That parade of worshippers at the altar of $cience and vaccine fascism are unlikely candidates for opposing tyranny.
